This blog.

By definition, this blog will never be finished since I am perpetually escapading. So far, 3/4 of China is done (a work in progress...), but now I'm in Mo'orea and will be attempting to finish Mo'orea first since it's only a month, not almost a year. But with super limited internet, this isn't going to be lightning fast (surprise!).

Cheers!

Harbin: Ice World

Only in China.

Just the entrance...

 Notice the stance.

Definitely not the first time China has used plastic flowers to add "life."

Taken about 2 seconds after Madeleine did her pose (above).

 A real live ice castle.

Complete with its surrounding "village" or whatever you would like to call it.

Enormous.

Bubbles through the ice

A smaller side castle.  Notice its size relative to the people.

Unbelievably cold.  We could definitely only stay outside for brief periods of time.

Mad spilled a little hot tea on her jacket.  Before it could drip down her jacket, it froze.

 Lots of crazy ice carvings...

 My personal favorite.
You can hire someone to follow you around the park to videotape you walking around the entire time.

Madeleine doing some sort of strange dance on the bridge.  Quite entertaining.

Candied fruit things.  Not my favorite but they do look awesome.

As it got darker, the lights inside the ice slowly turned on.  Most of them changed continually changed color.

Bundled.

Ice slides.  You actually could get quite fast....

 Ice biking.
Sounds cool, but probably one of the least exciting ways you could spend your time.  It was quite painful to watch them attempt to move on the ice.  Most got off the bike and tried to walk it....

 Candyland?  Yes.

 Coca-cola.  Of course.

 Mittened peace sign.

 Propaganda ice skating show

 Complete with fireworks...

And yes, they also rebuild this park every year...

Our Russian dinner... finally in a place of "warmth."

Ok.  I know I have commented on the food just a couple times before.  But this....... is beyond good.  Some Russian lamb stew.  Definitely one of the best foods I have ever eaten.  I still cannot get over it.

The ice bar

Hot chocolate

 The ice throne.
