This blog.

By definition, this blog will never be finished since I am perpetually escapading. So far, 3/4 of China is done (a work in progress...), but now I'm in Mo'orea and will be attempting to finish Mo'orea first since it's only a month, not almost a year. But with super limited internet, this isn't going to be lightning fast (surprise!).

Cheers!

A little taste of the west and a break from Beijing

Elizabeth and I were able to house sit for some friends in a western community - a wonderful and clean vacation from cleaning the apartment, complete with all sorts of western foods.

The family we house sat for even cooked us a Mexican dinner, with guacamole and everything.  Incredible.

Eating our Mexican food leftovers, enjoying a glass of wine, and watching TV for the first time since we've been here (except it was all in Chinese.  We quickly put a movie in...).

Complete with brownies: a rare, but precious commodity.

Madeleine, our present pancake chef, slept over for a night and in the morning, made delectable chocolate-banana-craisin-nut pancakes.

And they were delicious.  Despite what Elizabeth's face may or may not convey.

 Hello America.

(side note: Elizabeth had the week off of teaching for a Chinese holiday.  To make up for the weekdays the country had off, everyone had to go to school/work the following Saturday and Sunday.... There are some things I will just never understand.)
