Our apartment, although wonderfully spacious, most definitely needed a lot of tender loving care (aka hard core cleaning). I would like to refer to this phase of our time here as bonding through adversity. Or through layers of Beijing dust. Whatever you would like to call it. To spare you, in the next few posts I'll only touch on just a few of many, many cleaning adventures.
The Windows.
Yes, we had to vacuum our windows. We also vacuumed things like the ceilings. And the doors. And the light fixtures.
Elizabeth could not see me through the window. On the right, you can see what are almost clean windows look like after quite a few scrubbings.
And this is what a broken window from 5 stories above looks like. In case you were curious. We definitely found out what it looks like. On the bright side, it was one less window to clean.... Our first encounter with quality China products.
Before. After.
