This blog.

By definition, this blog will never be finished since I am perpetually escapading. So far, 3/4 of China is done (a work in progress...), but now I'm in Mo'orea and will be attempting to finish Mo'orea first since it's only a month, not almost a year. But with super limited internet, this isn't going to be lightning fast (surprise!).

Cheers!

Japan: Harajuku

 ...it's all about the people.

Our very spic and span hostel.

As with most places, please remove your shoes before coming in from the clean streets.  Yes, they really do wear wooden sandals and not-quite-Five-Finger shoes quite frequently.

Street food - by far the best red bean I've had.

Outside a temple garden - the water and ladles are to wash your hands with and then rinse out your mouth before entering for purification.  Interesting.

My version of a van filled with kids.  I love it.
(Side note... as you can see, people actually obey traffic laws here.  Unlike China, they are not just suggestions.)

Harajuku park - filled will all sorts of interesting people doing all sorts of things: picnics, playing every type of music with every type of instrument, dancing, practicing drama, wearing very creative outfits, practicing routines... you name it.  You could easily people watch for the whole day.  Please note the awesomeness of Madeleine and her backpack.

SO many people dressed up in any and every costume ever.  Love the different hand signs - the peace sign is so yesterday.

 The smoking panda.  Wonderfully ironic.

The definition of jamming.
And some ladies with very interesting dancing and singing.

Actually a really funny mime - acting out a baby here.  Also did laughs around the world.

 Talent.

An Elvis dance/sing off with multiple different Elvis impersonation bands going at it.
